I have lived in in Lombok for over a year but am originally from the UK. I trained as a teacher in England after being involved in the education sector for most of my working life in a variety of roles. Being a teacher is a career that I am passionate about, as seeing students thrive and succeed is a truly special experience. When I’m not in the classroom I enjoy skiing and snowboarding (difficult in Indonesia I know), as well as reading and walking our two dogs.
I like my classroom to be a place of fun, enquiry and creativity. I believe that when a student feels happy and safe they are ready to learn. Lessons should enable students to ask questions but also give them the opportunity to find out the answers for themselves. Therefore, we enable them not just to learn but to think.
