Sports Day 2026 at Sekolah Nusa Alam

On the 18th of September, students at Sekolah Nusa Alam came together for Sports Day 2026, a full day of sport, teamwork, and friendly house competition.

As an international school in Lombok, we value opportunities for students to learn and connect beyond the classroom. Sports Day brings different year groups together, encourages students to get active, and allows them to represent their houses while developing teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.

With Green, Blue, Yellow, and Red competing across a range of events, there was plenty of enthusiasm throughout the day as students took part in football, volleyball, basketball, Cone Collector, and activities for our Early Years students.

Football

Football was one of the most closely contested events of Sports Day, with competitions taking place across both the Lower and Upper categories.

Students worked together on the pitch, communicating as teams and representing their houses throughout the matches. The results reflected just how evenly matched the competition was, with Yellow and Red sharing the win in both the Lower and Upper football categories.

The matches also brought plenty of support from the sidelines, as students encouraged their teammates and celebrated the efforts of their houses.

Cone Collector

Cone Collector brought a different challenge to Sports Day, with students putting their speed, focus, and determination to the test.

In the Lower category, Yellow took the win, while Green came out on top in the Upper category.

It was a fun change of pace from the team sports and another opportunity for students across different year groups to get involved and contribute to their house.

Volleyball

The house competition continued on the volleyball court, where teamwork and communication played an important role throughout the matches.

Students worked together to keep the game moving and support their teammates, with Yellow and Red sharing the volleyball win.

As with football, the close result reflected the competitive spirit of the day while giving students another opportunity to put their teamwork into practice.

Basketball

Basketball added another fast-paced team event to this year’s Sports Day.

Students represented their houses on the court, working together and putting their coordination, communication, and sporting skills into action. At the end of the competition, Yellow secured the basketball win.

Early Years Join the Action

Our youngest students were part of the Sports Day excitement too.

The Early Years category gave children the opportunity to get active, participate in the house system, and experience the fun of Sports Day alongside the rest of the school.

This year, Green took the Early Years category, adding another achievement to their day.

Celebrating House Spirit

Of course, Sports Day is about more than the final scores.

Throughout the day, students supported their teammates, cheered from the sidelines, and represented their houses with enthusiasm. The House Spirit award went to Green, recognising the energy and encouragement they brought to the day.

House Spirit is an important part of Sports Day at Sekolah Nusa Alam because it recognises something that cannot always be measured by a final score: how students support one another and contribute to the wider school community.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At Sekolah Nusa Alam, learning extends beyond lessons and textbooks. School sport provides students with opportunities to develop skills and qualities that are valuable both in and outside the classroom.

Team sports such as football, basketball, and volleyball require students to communicate, cooperate, and work towards a shared goal. Competition also teaches students how to manage both success and disappointment, persevere when something is challenging, and recognise the achievements of others.

For our school community, Sports Day is also an opportunity for students across different ages to share an experience, strengthen friendships, and build connections beyond their usual classes.

These experiences form an important part of the well-rounded international education we aim to provide at Sekolah Nusa Alam in Lombok.

A Great Day for the SNA Community

Sports Day 2026 was a great opportunity to see our students active, involved, and supporting one another.

Congratulations to Green, Yellow, and Red on their achievements and, most importantly, to all of our students for the effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship they brought to each event.

We would also like to thank our teachers and staff for organising and supporting the activities throughout the day. Events such as Sports Day are an important part of school life at Sekolah Nusa Alam and help strengthen the active, connected community we value at our international school in Lombok.
