Sports Day 2026 at Sekolah Nusa Alam: A Celebration of Teamwork and School Spirit

At Sekolah Nusa Alam, a leading international school in Lombok, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. Events like Sports Day are an essential part of our approach to education, combining physical activity, teamwork, and personal development in a meaningful and engaging way.

Our Sports Day was a vibrant and enjoyable celebration of energy, competition, and school spirit. It brought together students, teachers, and families for a full day of activity, connection, and shared experiences that truly reflect life at our school.

Students took part in a wide range of events, competing both individually and within their Houses. From sprints, relay races, and obstacle courses to basketball, football, volleyball, and the ever-popular sack race, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

A Full Day of Activity and Community

This year, Sports Day was thoughtfully spread across the full day, allowing for a more relaxed and inclusive experience. This approach gave students the opportunity to fully engage in each activity, while also creating space for families, teachers, and peers to gather, connect, and support one another.

The atmosphere throughout the day was full of excitement and encouragement. Students competed with enthusiasm while demonstrating strong sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork. It was particularly rewarding to see students cheering each other on, celebrating effort as much as achievement.

Events like this strengthen the sense of community within our Lombok school. They create moments where students feel supported not just by their classmates, but by the wider school environment, including parents and teachers.

Bringing Learning to Life Through Sport

At our Cambridge international school in Lombok, we place strong value on developing the whole child. Sports Day is not just about competition, it is about growth, resilience, and learning through experience.

Through participation in physical activities, students develop:

  • Coordination and physical confidence
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Communication and leadership abilities
  • Resilience in both success and challenge

Throughout the day, the Cambridge learner attributes were clearly visible in action. Students showed confidence as they took part in events, responsibility as they worked within their teams, engagement as they remained active throughout the day, and reflection as they processed both wins and challenges.

These are the qualities that support long-term development and prepare students for life beyond school.

Celebrating Achievement and Participation

At the end of the day, Yellow House claimed victory once again, continuing their impressive run. However, beyond the final results, the true success of Sports Day was reflected in the participation, effort, and positive attitude shown by every student.

Each event offered opportunities for students to challenge themselves, try something new, and support their peers. For many, it was not about winning, but about taking part, building confidence, and enjoying the experience.

One of the highlights of the day was the tug of war between teachers and parents. The teachers gave it their all in a spirited match, but the parents ultimately came out on top. The result was received with laughter and good humour, adding to the sense of connection and fun that defined the day.

We are already looking forward to a rematch next year.

A Day to Remember

Sports Day 2026 was more than just a school event. It was a reflection of our school culture, one that values participation, respect, and community.

We are incredibly proud of all our students for their enthusiasm, effort, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Their energy and positive spirit made the event a true success.

We would also like to thank our teachers and parents for their support and involvement. Their presence and encouragement helped create an atmosphere that was both motivating and enjoyable for everyone involved.
