Sekolah Nusa Alam Delegates Achieve International Recognition at IMUN 2026 Yogyakarta

Sekolah Nusa Alam proudly announces the successful participation of its student delegates at the International Model United Nations (IMUN) 2026 Yogyakarta – from 28-30 January 2026 at Faculty of Philosophy, Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta – an international conference that gathers students from various countries to engage in diplomatic debate and global policy discussions.

A total of 14 students from Sekolah Nusa Alam participated as official delegates, representing different countries and serving in several United Nations committees, including UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the World Food Programme (WFP).

During the conference, Sekolah Nusa Alam received two international awards:
1. Honorable Mention – UNICEF Committee
Awarded to Syalaisha Noemitha Maas (Year 10), representing Mexico
2. Best Position Paper – UNESCO Committee
Awarded to Mezzaluna Ayuning Karenina (Year 10), representing Greece

Beyond these awards, the school’s greatest achievement lies in the collective performance of all participating delegates, all of them whom were attending an international Model United Nations conference for the first time. The students demonstrated strong research skills, academic writing proficiency, diplomatic communication, public speaking confidence, and adherence to formal international procedures.

Prior to the conference, the delegates underwent intensive preparation, including global issue research, position paper writing, speech training, mock conferences, and diplomatic protocol coaching. Throughout the event, they actively participated in formal debates, caucus sessions, resolution drafting, and voting procedures following international Rules of Procedure.

This achievement reflects Sekolah Nusa Alam’s commitment to nurturing globally minded students who are confident, articulate, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to international discourse.
